Thomas Anderton (died 1729)
- was probably born around 1670.
- had a sister Ann who married John Cowell at Ribchester in July 1693.
- was a collar maker or saddler, firstly at Mellor and then at Samlesbury, Lancashire.
- was buried at Samlesbury on 30th August 1729.
- wrote his will on 8th January 1729, which was proved at Chester on 29th September 1729.
- married Elizabeth Audland (daughter of Jonathan Audland, shoemaker of Preston) at Samlesbury on 10th December 1695. She was buried at Samlesbury on 29th November 1740 and her will was proved at Chester on 12th December 1740.
- had ten children:
- Ferdinand Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at St Mary's, Blackburn on 5th July 1696. He died sometime before 1729.
- Jonathon Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at St Mary's, Blackburn on 1st May 1698. He inherited a house at Preston which had come down through his mother's family.
- Ann Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at St Mary's, Blackburn on 22nd April 1700. She married Edmund Balshaw, a weaver, at Walton-le-Dale on 29th July 1723. They had seven children before Ann was buried at Walton on 17th June 1742.
- Mary Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at St Mary's, Blackburn in April 1702. She died at Samlesbury in November 1751.
- Henry Anderton (1704-1776)
- James Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at Samlesbury on 14th July 1706. He married Ann Eastham at Samlesbury on 4th March 1727 and they had four children; Ferdinand (bur. 1733), John (ch. 1734), Thomas (ch. 1737) and Elizabeth (1748-49). James inherited his father's lands in Mellor. He died there and was buried at Samlesbury on 18th October 1771.
- Thomas Anderton was born at Mellor and christened at Samlesbury on 26th December 1708.
- Elizabeth Anderton was born at Samlesbury and christened there on 21st January 1711. She married Samuel Smith sometime before 1740.
- David Anderton was born at Samlesbury and christened there on 19th April 1713. He died a bachelor and was buried at Walton-le-Dale on 12th July 1742.
- Ellen Anderton who married Thomas Newsham, an innkeeper, at Walton-le-Dale on 2nd August 1738. They had four children before Thomas died in 1752.

Henry Anderton (1704-1776)
- the son of Thomas Anderton
- was born at Mellor and christened at St Mary's, Blackburn on 7th May 1704.
- was a saddler at Samlesbury, having inherited his father's work tools and his tenement known as the Farwoods.
- died at Samlesbury and was buried at Walton-le-Dale on 23rd January 1776.
- married Anne Ramsbottom (daughter of Richard Ramsbottom, yeoman of Brindle) at Walton-le-Dale on 5th August 1729.
- had eleven children:
- Ferdinando Anderton was christened at Brindle on 23rd November 1729, but was buried at Samlesbury on 26th May 1732.
- Anne Anderton was born on 24th December 1730 and christened at Samlesbury on 29th December.
- Thomas Anderton was born at Samlesbury on 7th March 1733 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 11th March, but was buried at Samlesbury on 4th May 1733.
- Anne Anderton was born on 10th February 1735 and christened at Samlesbury on 26th February. She died at Samlesbury and was buried at Walton-le-Dale on 4th February 1776, less than 2 weeks after her parents.
- James Anderton (1737-1814)
- Henry Anderton was born on 8th February 1739 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 11th February. He was a weaver.
- Thomas Anderton was born on 7th December 1741 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 1st January 1742, but was buried at Walton-le-Dale on 30th October 1747.
- David Anderton was born and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 29th December 1743, but was buried on 15th January 1744.
- Margaret Anderton was born on 2nd January 1745 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 13th January.
- Jennet Anderton was born on 14th November 1746 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 23rd November. She married Henry Mouldon.
- Ellin Anderton was born on 1st November 1749 and christened at Walton-le-Dale on 26th November, but was buried at Walton-le-Dale on 9th February 1756.

James Anderton (1737-1814)
- the son of Henry Anderton.
- was born at Curedale on 25th July 1737 and christened at Samlesbury on 31st July.
- was a saddler at Walton-le-Dale.
- died at Walton-le-Dale in 1814.
- married Ann Counsel at Walton-le-Dale on 6th April 1766 by banns.
- had eleven children:
- Henry Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 29th June 1767 and christened there on 12th July.
- James Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 27th January 1769 and christened there on 12th February. He continued the saddler's trade in Walton-le-Dale and was buried there on 12th March 1836. His son Henry(1808-55) also continued the trade, but became more famous throughout Lancashire as a poet and speaker on the temperance movement.
- Mary Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 29th October 1770 and christened there on 18th November. She married Alex Wilding at Walton on 6th October 1794.
- David Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 16th May 1772 and christened there on 31st May, but was buried on 9th June 1774.
- William Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 13th December 1773 and christened there on 6th January 1774. He died in the workhouse and was buried at Walton on 11th October 1832.
- Ellen Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 27th August 1775 and christened there on 24th September.
- Thomas Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 3rd October 1777 and christened there on 19th October. He was buried at Walton on 13th April 1820.
- John Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 16th April 1780 and christened there on 7th May.
- David Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 5th December 1782 and christened there on 1st January 1783. He was buried at Walton on 5th June 1802.
- Joseph Anderton was born at Walton-le-Dale on 1st February 1785 and christened there on 6th March.

Benjamin Anderton (1788-1872)
- the son of James Anderton.
- was born at Walton-le-Dale on 20th January 1788 and christened there on 6th February.
- initially worked as a cotton warper in Preston.
- took up trade as a baker at Pole Street and Lords Walk in Preston during the 1820s.
- later converted his trade to that of butcher after his second marriage to a butcher's daughter.
- died of old age at Park Road, Preston on 30th September 1872, aged 84.
- married firstly to Ann (possibly Ann Latus) before 1814. She died at Lord's Walk and was buried at St John's on 29th June 1836.
- had five children by Ann:
- Richard Latus Anderton was christened at St John's, Preston on 30th January 1814. He married Hannah Lord at the same church on 7th September 1833.
- James Anderton was christened at St John's, Preston on 11th February 1816.
- John Wallis Anderton (born 1819)
- Thomas Anderton was born at Penwortham and christened at St John's, Preston on 21st October 1821. He married Hannah Murthwaite at the same church on 4th June 1843.
- Ann Anderton was born at Pole Street and christened at St John's, Preston on 20th March 1825. She died at Lord's Walk and was buried at St John's on 15th June 1836.
- married secondly to Sarah Ayrton, a widow, at Penwortham on 22nd January 1838.
- had two more children by Sarah.
- Ann Anderton was christened at St John's, Preston on 5th July 1839, but died on 8th June 1840.
- Benjamin Anderton was christened at St John's, Preston on 5th July 1839, but died on 29th May 1840.

John Wallis Anderton (born 1819)
- the son of Benjamin Anderton.
- was born at High Street, Preston and christened at St John's on 7th March 1819.
- initially worked as a joiner. Set up as a baker and shopkeeper, but later returned to his original trade.
- was living separate from his wife and family in 1881.
- married Jane Stackhouse (daughter of William and Hannah Stackhouse) at St John's on 9th October 1842.
- had eleven children:
- Ann Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 2nd July 1843.
- Agnes Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 8th December 1844. She married a man called Catterall.
- William Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 9th August 1846. He married Ann Brockbank, and they had five children; Arthur, Mary Ellen(1879-1958), Isaac, Edith Ann(1885-86) and Herbert. William died suddenly, just before the birth of his son Herbert.
- Thomas Anderton (1848-1932)
- Sarah Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 2nd July 1843. She married Edward Alker and they had a son Joseph (born 1883).
- Jane Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 22nd May 1853.
- Benjamin Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 19th November 1854. He married and had five children including two boys, Edward and John Wallace, who emigrated to Australia.
- Anna Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 8th February 1857. She married a man called Rainford.
- James Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 27th June 1858.
- Edward Anderton was born at Preston and christened at St John's on 1st January 1860.
- Mary Anderton was born at Preston in 1862. She married a man called Schofield.

Thomas Anderton (1848-1932)
- the son of John Wallis Anderton.
- was born at Preston on 6th April 1848 and christened at St John's on 18th June.
- worked as a cotton weaver until he was 60, apart from a few years spent working a small-holding during the 1890s.
- died at Nelson on 26th August 1932 and was buried at St John's.
- was a staunch tee-totaler and member of the Tariff Reform Committee.
- married Sarah Eastwood (daughter of Henry Eastwood and Hannah Ridehalgh) at St Peter's, Preston on 6th June 1870.
- had ten children:
- John Thomas Anderton was born at Preston on 27th December 1870, but died on 19th November 1873.
- William Henry Anderton was born at Preston on 2nd March 1873. He married Ada Smith and they had eight children. William died on 23rd July 1955.
- Benjamin Anderton was born at Preston on 14th July 1875. He married and had three children; Harry, Arthur and Evelyn. He died in 1947.
- John Thomas Anderton was born at Preston on 15th December 1878. Although the family was now living in Nelson, his mother came back to Preston to evade compulsory vaccinations. He married Annie Coggan in 1910 and they one child, Jean. He worked as a warehouseman with the Nelson Co-op.
- James Anderton was born at Preston on 11th May 1881, his mother coming back from Nelson to evade compulsory vaccinations, as with John Thomas. He married his cousin Mary Ellen Anderton (daughter of William - see above). They had three children; William Arnold, John and Rachel. James died in 1962.
- Elizabeth Ann Anderton was born at Nelson on 3rd September 1883. She married George Noble Baldwin and they had seven children; Charlotte Vera, Edna, George, Thomas, Molly, Albert and James. She emigrated to Canada with Charlotte and Edna, leaving her husband and surviving sons in England.
- Sarah Jane Anderton was born at Nelson on 15th December 1885. She married Herbert Odgers in 1910. They emigrated to Australia and had four children; Kathleen Eugenie, Winifred Helen, James Richard Allen and Annie Bessie.
- Mary Hannah Anderton was born at Nelson on 27th August 1888. She emigrated to Australia and married there to Henry Norman in 1919. They had five children; Margaret, Irene, Harry, Jack and Betty.
- Agnes Anderton was born at Nab's Farm, Dimpenley near Newchurch-in-Pendle on 30th May 1891. She was a schoolteacher and married Richard Thomas Harold Stuttard in 1918. They had two children; Joan Emily Margaret and Peggy Irene.
- Margaret Anderton was born at Nab's Farm, Dimpenley near Newchurch-in-Pendle on 4th January 1894. She married Wilfred Middlebrook in 1921. Margaret died at Warminster, Wiltshire on 1st February 1981.
